TRUE LOVE CAN HELP YOU MAKE BILLIONS

bill melinda gates

Nearly a century ago, journalist Napoleon Hill set out on a mission to uncover and document the strategies used by the wealthiest and most successful businessmen in America.
He studied more than 500 self-made millionaires over 20 years, and his research culminated in the 1937 bestseller "Think and Grow Rich," which shares what he calls the "money-making secret" in 13 principles.
His 10th principle — "the mystery of sex transmutation" — suggests that love, romance, and sex are critical factors in the determination of one's success and wealth.
Hill writes:
Sex desire is the most powerful of human desires ...
When harnessed, and redirected along other lines, this motivating force maintains all of its attributes of keenness of imagination, courage, etc., which may be used as powerful creative forces in literature, art, or in any other profession or calling, including, of course, the accumulation of riches ...
Love, romance, and sex are all emotions capable of driving men to heights of super achievement ... When combined, these three emotions may lift one to an altitude of a genius.
Hill makes some bold claims: "The men of greatest achievement are men with highly developed sex natures," and "the men who have accumulated great fortunes ... were motivated by the influence of a woman."
While this principle may seem a little far-fetched, there is something to be said about having a supportive partner to achieve financial success — an idea that has surfaced and gained relevance today, 78 years later.

"The most important career choice you'll make is who you marry," Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, whose estimated net worth is $1.1 billion, said at the 2011 IGNITION conference in New York.
Many echo this sentiment, including Catherine Alford of The Simple Dollar, who wrote: "If I'd selected a different spouse, my life would look very different ... My spouse, whether I realized it or not at the time, has been the best money decision of my life."
It makes sense. As motivational speaker Jim Rohn famously said: We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with, which is especially true when it comes to our spouses.
These claims are backed by research. One study, by Brittany C. Solomon and Joshua J. Jackson of Washington University in St. Louis, shows that having a conscientious spouse can boost your salary significantly.
"With every standard-deviation increase in a spouse's conscientiousness, an employee is likely to earn about $4,000 more a year," reported the Harvard Business Review. "An employee with an extremely conscientious spouse (two standard deviations above the mean) is 50% more likely to get a promotion than an employee with an extremely unconscientious spouse (two standard deviations below the mean)."
Conscientious spouses tend to allow their partner to focus more on their career. Also, people with conscientious spouses generally feel more satisfied with their marriage, and this absence of stress and drama at home allows them to bring more emotional and physical energy to work, the researchers concluded.
While parts of Hill's philosophy are outdated — he analyzed only rich men and wrote for a predominantly male audience — he was on to something when he suggested relationships are a crucial step toward accumulating wealth.

Party Like a Billionaire: How the Rich Celebrate

Who wants to party like a rock star when you can party like a billionaire? That is if you are lucky enough to get invited to one of their blow-out bashes.

Our roundup of the splashiest billionaire fetes proves that these titans don't just know how to make money, they also know how to spend it. Their parties--often costing well into the millions--are spectacular exercises in hedonism, frequently featuring intimate performances by rock stars, week-long extravaganzas on private islands and mingling with A-list crowds of other magnates and celebrities. Not to mention all the finest champagne, caviar and other gourmet treats they can get down their gold-plated gullets.

One of the hottest tickets of 2007 was an invitation to the 60th birthday party of private equity king Stephen Schwarzman, which took place in February just four days after his Blackstone group announced the world's biggest buyout ever, a $39 billion deal involving commercial-building empire Equity Office Group.

Held in the cavernous Park Avenue Armory on Manhattan's swank upper east side, the party, reported to have cost $3 million, drew 350 guests including Donald Trump, new Merrill Lynch chief John Thain, TV personalities Maria Bartiromo and Barbara Walters and Washington D.C. insider Vernon Jordan. Rod Stewart performed and Patti LaBelle sang happy birthday.

Schwarzman's affair sounds quaint when you hear about parties thrown by British retail billionaire Philip Green. He makes his money selling, among other things, cheap chic fashions, but there is nothing cheap about his galas. This past March, he celebrated his 55th birthday by surprising 100 friends to a five-day all-inclusive jaunt to the Maldives. Guests were told to pack bathing suits and instructed to arrive at England's Stansted airport where they were herded onto chartered planes and flown to the island.

There, the 100 lucky revelers were serenaded by both George Michael and Jennifer Lopez. The celebration was capped off with a spectacular fireworks display. It was particularly opulent considering the fact that just five years earlier, Green celebrated his 50th birthday with a toga party for 200 guests in Cyprus, where Tom Jones and Rod Stewart sang.

Another billionaire who likes to spend on entertainment is Russian Andrey Melnichenko whose wife, Serbian supermodel Aleksandra Nikolic was a member of Yugoslavian pop group, Models. Over the years, he has squired Whitney Houston, Mark Anthony, Enrique Iglesias and Christina Aguilera to sing at various events. Most recently, he spent a reported $2 million to fly J.Lo, one of his wife's favorite pop stars, to perform at Nikolic's 30th birthday party in April.

While some billionaires wait for landmark birthdays or even bar mitzvahs to throw a big bash, leveraged buyout king Ron Perelman hosts his annual combined birthday/New Year's bash aboard his 188-foot yacht anchored in St. Bart's. One of the most anticipated events of the year, invitations only go out to a lucky 200, including past guests like Microsoft Co-Founder Paul Allen, former Miramax chief Harvey Weinstein, Denzel Washington, Natalie Portman, Eddie Murphy and Jon Bon Jovi.

Then there are those who like to keep their parties more intimate. One billionaire who has never been named threw a private party for 15 guests including Bill Gates and U2's Bono last year in the South of France (full disclosure: Bono is a major investor in Forbes.com). Singer Christina Milian and Latin dance group The Gypsy Kings performed at the affair. So did Gates, who took the microphone from the pop starlet and led the crowd in a stirring rendition of Frank Sinatra's "My Way." Just goes to show, even billionaires just wanna have fun.

"I Never Went To University" - Africa’s Richest Woman

Africa’s Richest Woman, Folorunsho Alakija, has revealed that  she did not go to a University but that did not stop her from making it in life and achieving her goals.
folorunsho Alakija
63-year-old Folorunsho Alakija made this revelation, yesterday, August 27 while giving a motivational speech to the students of the University of Lagos during the 2014 UN International Youths Day in Lagos.
Alakija while motivating the students opened up about her background saying: “I come from Ikorodu, Lagos state. I am married to a dashing young lawyer of 70 years of age and we have four grown up gentlemen and grandchildren. It has not been a rag to riches fairytale. It has not been an overnight phenomenon like some cases which you find here and there all over the world. For as long as I can remember, I had always wanted my own business.
Hard work…am trying to tell you how I got to where I am if you want those billions. Hard work, diligence, persistence…days where you nearly gave up but I chose not to give up.”
It would have been easy to compromise but I chose not to and I stayed focus. I could have stayed a secretary as my father desired according to his plan for me but I had bigger aspirations. I dreamt big. God strengthened me and gave me wisdom. I had a passion and burning desire to succeed. Being a secretary, a banker, a fashion icon, a cooperate promoter and printer, a real estate owner, an oil magnate, that I can assure you was no easy feat. Firm belief that what is worth doing is what doing well or not doing at all.
I took charge of my life with the tools I have shared with you. I chose to become born again at the age of 40.
I chose to make a covenant with God that if he would bless me I would work for him all the days of my life. I chose to hold on to the cross and look up to him every step of the way. Today additional accomplishment includes a wife of almost 40 years, a mother, grandmother, ministry, counseling, outreach, NGO Rose of Sharon Foundation for widows and Author, writer, author of several inspirational books.
All I say to the glory of God. So I am 63 and I am not yet done. So what is your excuse? I never went to a University and I am proud to say so because I don’t think I have done too badly. You do not have to have a University education to be able to make it so count yourselves privileged to have that education as part of the feather in your cap” she said.
